IFRC BENELUX RELIEF ERU TRAINING

A TWO-PERSON GEG TEAM DESIGNED AND FACILITATED AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE UNIT COURSE FOR THE BENELUX RED CROSS

Background: For many years GEG has been privileged to serve as the lead facilitator and course designer in support of for the International Relief Emergency Response Units (ERU) of the BeNeLux group of Red Cross (RC) National Societies. The course is a key component of the BeNeLux RC contribution to the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies emergency response system. The ERUs are on standby to respond to requests for international support during international emergencies and disaster events.

Requirement: Delivery of a new course for 2017 ERU team member expansion. This course required a review of earlier trainings followed by a refresh of the agenda, subject modules exercises and simulations to reflect developments in the response environment and service methodology for humanitarian assistance.

GEG Contribution: In consultation with BeNeLux colleagues, GEG provided an ERU course review and developed new and customized ERU course content. GEG provided a lead facilitator and a course assistance to lead core sessions in Belgium, manage the overall delivery of the training and support BeNeLux in-house Subject Matter Experts in delivering course modules.
