NEPAL – GLOBAL EMERGENCY GROUP PROVIDES PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR NEPALI VOLUNTEERS

May 25, 2015 – Responding to an appeal by the Canadian Forces / DART and UNDAC CMCoord on Friday afternoon, the Global Emergency Group provided today 50 hardhats and 50 pairs of strong protective gloves to the demolition and debris removal efforts in Sankhu, some 45 minutes east of Kathmandu. Two days ago, a group of some 50 Nepali volunteers had arrived and spontaneously offered their help after having been motivated by the joint efforts of the local residents and the Canadian troops. As Capt. Zak Albers stated shortly after the handover: “We and the volunteers greatly appreciate this support from GEG. Our volunteers can now work safely, without fear of injury.”
